Former governor of Adamawa State and one-time senator for Adamawa North, Mohammed Umaru Bindow Jibrilla, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), signaling his departure from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

According to social media updates released on Monday, Bindow formally registered and collected his ADC membership card in Mubi North Local Government Area, marking his full transition into the growing opposition coalition.

Bindow, who served as governor of Adamawa State from 2015 to 2019 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress,  APC and represented Adamawa North in the Senate from 2011 to 2015, is expected to play a key role in ADC’s grassroots mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His public induction into the ADC comes as the party gains increasing political momentum in Adamawa State.

Already, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the 2023 governorship flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Aisha Binani, have also joined the ADC.
