The Anambra State Police Command has announced the arrest of a suspected kidnapper, John Chinagorom, who had been on its wanted list, following a coordinated operation with the Kaduna State Police Command.
According to a statement released on Saturday, August 2, 2025, by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the arrest was made possible through credible intelligence and swift inter-state collaboration.
“Following a credible intelligence report received at noon on August 1, 2025, operatives of the Ozubulu Police Division received information that the suspect, John Chinagorom, linked to a kidnapping case reported on April 15, 2025, was sighted around PZ Park Road, Zaria, Kaduna State,” the statement read.
Ikenga explained that detectives from the Ozubulu Division were immediately dispatched to the area, where they successfully apprehended the suspect at his hideout, with the assistance of officers from the Kaduna State Police Command.
“The suspect is currently in custody and is assisting the Police with ongoing investigations,” he confirmed.
Meanwhile, the Police assured that the general security situation across Anambra State remains calm, with counter-terrorism units and other crime prevention operations ongoing.
“Further developments will be communicated in due course,” Ikenga added.
