The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially released the timetable for its upcoming elective National Convention, slated to take place on November 15 and November 16, 2025.
The schedule, signed by the Party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, was communicated in a statement late Monday, detailing the key dates for nominations, screenings, and the convention itself.
According to the released timetable, the process for obtaining nomination and expression of interest forms will commence on September 3 and conclude on September 22. Following this, the deadline for the return of all completed forms has been set for September 26.
The PDP has also established specific dates for the vetting of candidates. The screening of all aspirants is scheduled for September 30, with the publication of cleared aspirants to follow on October 3. A window for screening appeals has been allocated for October 6.
Further outlining the pre-convention activities, the statement indicated that the publication of the final list of aspirants will occur on October 10.
The crucial National Convention, where new national officers will be elected, is scheduled for November 15 and November 16. The subsequent handover of leadership responsibilities is expected to take place between December 1 and December 8, marking the transition of power within the party.
The decision to fix these dates for the National Convention was made at the PDP’s 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. The venue for this significant party event has been confirmed as Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.
