Political stakeholders from Amurri community in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State have unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, praising his administration for what they described as “transformational leadership” that has brought visible development to their community and the state at large.
The decision was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting convened by former APC State Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, at Peace Castle, Amurri, on Friday, August 29, 2025.
In a communique signed by representatives of various autonomous communities, the leaders noted that Amurri has benefited from several infrastructural projects initiated by the Mbah administration.
“Under his leadership, Amurri as well as other communities in Enugu have benefited in infrastructural development programs such as the Smart Green School, a Type 2 Health Centre, and a Smart Farm Estate, which are all nearing completion,” the statement read.
The group further commended Governor Mbah for appointing their son, Professor Umezuluike Okafor, as Chief Medical Director (CMD), describing the gesture as a recognition of Amurri’s contributions to the state.
They also applauded the award of the long-awaited Obe-Amurri road project, which they said would commence with mobilization to site in October 2025 after ongoing soil testing.
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Dr. Nwoye emphasized that their support for the governor cuts across all political parties in Amurri, including ADC, APGA, APC, SDP, LP, and PDP.
“We supported him massively during the 2023 gubernatorial election, and we shall repeat such in the 2027 general election,” the stakeholders declared. “For us, Governor Mbah’s coming to Amurri to campaign in 2027 will only be a formality, because his good governance has already endeared him to us.”
The communique was jointly signed by Hon. Victor Okechukwu (Amankanu Amurri Autonomous Community), Hon. Obinna Chukwu (UmuIgbo Amurri Autonomous Community), Hon. Micky Nwankwo (Eziokwe Amurri Autonomous Community), and Hon. Smart Onwe (Amurri Ancient Kingdom, Enuagu).
“God bless Peter Mbah, God bless Enugu State, God bless Nigeria,” the statement concluded.
