The Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Onoh, has applauded the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for the successful hosting of this year’s NBA Annual General Conference, which brought over 20,000 lawyers to the state.

Speaking after the close of the event, Dr. Onoh described the hosting as a monumental achievement that placed Enugu on the national stage. He credited the success to Governor Mbah’s visionary leadership and the NBA’s confidence in the state.

“We successfully hosted over 20,000 lawyers right here in Enugu State, more specifically in Enugu North LGA,” Onoh said. “This is a monumental achievement, made possible by the visionary leadership of Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.”

The council boss highlighted the massive infrastructural developments delivered by the Mbah administration as the foundation that made the conference seamless.

“It all started with preparation,” he explained. “From a world-class International Conference Centre delivered earlier this year, to a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre ensuring safety, newly constructed roads and roundabouts beautifying Enugu City, the upgraded Presidential Hotel, and five ultramodern bus terminals with brand new CNG buses easing transportation.”

Onoh also praised the NBA, led by Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN), for recognizing Enugu as the perfect host city.

“The Nigerian Bar Association saw all these and knew: Enugu State is where Nigerian lawyers need to experience. This year, the NBA chose Enugu, and we stood out and stood tall.”

Concluding, Onoh stressed that the success of the event carried a lesson in governance and planning.

“The moral of the story is simple: there is victory in preparation at every level. Governor Mbah has prepared Enugu for moments like this, and tomorrow is already here.”
