The Enugu West Unity Forum (EWUF) on Saturday inaugurated the Development Centre and Ward Executive members of its Ezeagu Chapter at the headquarters of Ezeagu Local Government Area, Aguobu Owa, with a strong mandate to mobilize support for Governor Peter Mbah’s re-election in 2027 and to ensure that Enugu West Senatorial Zone produces the next governor by 2031.
During the colourful ceremony, attended by political leaders, traditional rulers and party faithful, the people of Ezeagu Local Government Area assured Governor Mbah of their block vote in 2027. They praised his administration’s giant strides in areas such as the Smart and Green Schools, Type 2 Primary Health Centres, and the revival of moribund industries, declaring that there was no need for him to campaign in their area as they would deliver total victory.
President of the Enugu West Unity Forum, Architect Jake Udeh, while, charging the newly inaugurated executives to vigorously propagate the achievements of Governor Mbah across communities, declared; “With Peter Mbah, No Vacancy in Lion Building and 2031 is assured.”
He maintained that EWUF would remain the driving force behind the governor’s re-election victory in the senatorial district.
Speaking at the event, the Forum Coordinator for Ezeagu Chapter, Chief Emeka Udeh, emphasized the need for continuity, stressing that Governor Mbah deserved a second term just like his predecessors.
“For us at Enugu West Unity Forum, we are advocating for the continuity and stability of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s projects and initiatives in Enugu State.
“We are poised to mobilize massive support for his re-election come 2027, hoping that by 2031, the baton shall be handed over to Enugu West Senatorial Zone,” he said, urging the newly inaugurated executives to work hard to achieve their mandate.

The Vice President General of EWUF, Prince Afam Agana, also encouraged the members of the Ezeagu Chapter to remain committed. According to him, their assignment went beyond returning Governor Mbah in 2027 but also included securing the governorship slot for Enugu West in 2031.
“You have to work hard to ensure that not only that Gov. Mbah is re-elected in 2027 but that the governorship position comes to Enugu West Senatorial Zone in 2031 after His Excellency has completed his tenure,” he said, warning that the existing rotational formula must not be derailed.
Encouraging the Forum members further, the PDP State Auditor, Tobias Odinwankpa, assured them that the Enugu West Unity Forum enjoyed full recognition by the leadership of the PDP and therefore urged the executives to take their mandate seriously.
The Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government Area, Dr. Vitalist Ndu, equally commended Governor Mbah’s developmental strides but stressed the need to consolidate them through re-election. “His works speak for him, but efforts should still be made to have him re-elected because it is not business as usual, because the era of writing results is over,” he declared, urging EWUF members to redouble their efforts.

Former Chairman of the Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Lawrence Agubuzu, advised the Forum to ensure mass voter registration and collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). According to him, “You have to go out to canvass that the people get their voters card otherwise they will not vote, and your mandate to re-elect Governor Mbah and to ensure that the governorship position returns to Enugu West will not be achieved.”
Some leaders of the Forum later embarked on a brief tour of ongoing projects in the council area, commending Mbah for his developmental interventions in Ezeagu and the council boss for following the footsteps of the transformative governor.

The event also attracted notable personalities including the Leader of the Ezeagu Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Sunday Wisdom Agu; Former Ezeagu council chairman, Chief Ferdinand Anikwe; some Presidents-General of communities in the area; several Ezeagu councilors; the Coordinator of EWUF Aninri Chapter, Godwin Kama, the Youth Leader of EWUF, Uchenna Onah, and the Secretary to the Local Government, Innocent Okozor, who all pledged their support to the Forum’s resolve.
