A senior lecturer at the Faculty of Management, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, has been accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old female undergraduate on campus.

The university management confirmed the allegation on Thursday, saying relevant authorities had already stepped in.

According to reports, the 300-level student (name withheld) alleged that the lecturer invited her to his office on August 22, 2025, at about 12:00 noon, where he allegedly forced himself on her.

The student later reported the matter to the police on August 28, after which she was taken to a hospital for medical attention.

UNILAG’s spokesperson, Mrs. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, confirmed that the university was aware of the allegation and that a panel had been constituted to investigate the matter.

“The panel has commenced investigation, and its findings will be made public through the appropriate channels upon completion,” she said.

Alaga-Ibraheem further assured that the institution would conduct a thorough probe and ensure justice for all parties involved.

She also reaffirmed UNILAG’s zero-tolerance stance on all forms of sexual harassment, urging students and staff to promptly report any misconduct through the university’s designated channels.

“The university will certainly take appropriate action on such reports,” she added.

Meanwhile, the police investigation into the allegation is ongoing, while UNILAG’s Safeguarding Centre has begun providing support to the student.
