Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has finally returned to the state.

There had been concerns over his absence following the departure of the sole Administrator of the state, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ekwe Ibas (rtd), after the expiration of the emergency rule.

Supporters of the governor had earlier trooped to the Government House, Port Harcourt, to welcome him back after the six-month suspension.

However, they dispersed after waiting for several hours.

They later reconvened at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, on Friday morning.

The plane which conveyed the governor to the airport touched down around mid-day.
