Gunmen have reportedly abducted a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Pankshin South Constituency.
According to eyewitness accounts, the legislator was taken away late Sunday night when armed men stormed his residence in the Dong community of Jos North Local Government Area. The assailants, said to be heavily armed, reportedly broke into the house and whisked him away before security operatives could intervene.
At the time of filing this report, neither the Plateau State Police Command nor the State Assembly leadership had issued an official statement on the abduction. It also remains unclear whether the kidnappers have established contact with the victim’s family or made any ransom demands.
