The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday unsealed the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Deputy Director of the Sergeant-at-Arms, Alabi Adedeji, supervised the removal of the seal, which had remained on the door since March 6 following her suspension.
The seal was originally placed after the Senate suspended the Kogi Central lawmaker for six months over alleged gross misconduct and violation of its rules.
It remains unclear on whose directive the seal was removed or whether Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has been granted approval to resume legislative duties when the Senate reconvenes on October 7.
This move comes despite the Senate’s earlier position that the senator would not be reinstated until the resolution of her pending legal battle against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
