MainPower Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MEDL) has announced that parts of Enugu metropolis will experience a planned power outage on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The company said the outage is necessary to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to carry out essential maintenance works on its facilities.
According to MEDL, the exercise will affect several 33KV feeders and lines, including Kingsway (Lines 1 & 2), Emene Industrial (Lines 1 & 2), Ugwuogo, Thinkers Corner, Trans Ekulu, Ituku Ozalla, and Government House.
Consequently, major parts of the city and surrounding areas will be without power supply during the exercise. Affected locations include: entire Abakpa District, 9th Mile and surrounding communities, Government House and environs, Shoprite Axis, Golf Estate, Zoo Estate, Okpara Avenue, Kingsway Area, Abakaliki Road, CBN Quarters, Railway Quarters, Artisan, Ngwo, Coal Camp, Ologo Quarters, Uwani, Asata, Golden Royale, and Iva Valley.
“We sincerely regret the inconvenience this may cause our esteemed customers and assure them that supply will be restored once the maintenance exercise is completed,” said Emeka Ezeh, Head of Communications, MEDL.
He stressed that the company remains committed to improving service delivery and ensuring more reliable electricity supply to customers across Enugu.
