A frontline grassroots mobilization group in Enugu State, Udenu Pillars for Dr. Peter Mbah, has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to propagating the policies and achievements of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, describing his administration as a model of continuity, innovation, and good governance.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to Government House, Enugu, on Monday, September 29, the group declared that its mission is to strengthen political engagement, promote government programmes, and serve as the “bedrock of a progressive movement” across Udenu Local Government and beyond.
According to the group’s coordinator, Nnamdi Emmanuel, popularly known as Missile, the initiative is a “clarion call for a departure from the old order”, stressing that Governor Mbah’s administration has delivered disruptive innovation in governance.
“Politics is, in practice, a contest for the authority to steer public systems—how we govern, allocate shared resources and deliver the common good. What we insist on, however, is constructive and objective debates based on measurable outcomes, constitutional order, and continuity of governance as a public trust, not a private transaction,” the coordinator said.
Mr. Emmanuel noted that, unlike other parts of the country where discontinuity has wasted public funds and stalled development, Enugu State under Governor Mbah has taken a different path.
“What is unfolding in Enugu State marks a significant departure worth assessing on evidence. In just two and a half years, Dr. Peter Mbah’s administration has shown a reflective and record-breaking turnaround,” the statement read.
Grassroots Mobilization through Polling Unit Cells
Highlighting its strategies, Udenu Pillars revealed that it has established Polling Unit Cells across the local government, which will function with the same framework as wards and LGAs. The coordinator explained that the approach, is designed to engender inclusiveness and sensitize voters who were previously neglected.
As part of its contributions to deepening democracy, he disclosed that one of its patrons, Dr. Gerald Asogwa, donated 10 internet Wi-Fi modems to the INEC office in Udenu to facilitate the ongoing voter registration exercise. The group also procured furniture and supported recurrent expenditure at the electoral office.
It further announced plans to deploy its mobilization machinery across wards while engaging town criers to awaken citizens to their civic responsibilities.
“The movement has since expanded beyond Udenu with the establishment of Igboeze North Pillars, coordinated by Hon. Sydney Nweze, with the ambition of extending the structure across the entire senatorial zone,” Mr. Emmanuel concluded.
Government Acknowledges Support
Receiving the delegation, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs, Hon. Frank Anioma, commended the group for its sacrifices and loyalty to the administration.
He recalled Governor Mbah’s remarks during a town hall meeting at Nsukka, where the governor stated that the ongoing Smart School Project has taken a significant share of the state’s resources because of its transformative importance.
“I am aware that a lot of these smart schools are ongoing in Enugu North Senatorial Zone. You don’t preach to the believers,” Anioma told the group.
He further praised the group’s unity and visibility:
“For you to have come together and done all you have already done, I see the T-shirts, the messages you have written, and your address stating that you are here to propagate the works of His Excellency.”

Reaffirming loyalty to Governor Mbah, Anioma stressed that the administration would complete its programmes and deliver lasting impact.
“All we know is that His Excellency is the political leader we follow for now. If there is any need to move, we are moving with him. If there is any need to remain where we are, we are still moving with him. We are going to excel with him. No matter what, we will complete the good works he has started,” he declared.
The Special Adviser noted that Governor Mbah has already served two years in office and still has six years to consolidate his transformational agenda, assuring the group that the process of development will continue.
