Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday announced the dissolution of the state executive council, relieving all commissioners and other public office holders affected by the recent Supreme Court judgment.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nelson Chukwudi, confirmed in a statement that the dissolution of the cabinet takes immediate effect.

During a private valedictory session with members of his cabinet at Government House, Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara expressed deep appreciation to the commissioners for their service and dedication to the growth and development of Rivers State over the past two years.

According to the statement, the Governor described their contributions as valuable to his administration’s progress and urged them to continue supporting the state in different capacities even outside of government.

The Governor also used the occasion to reflect on the significance of Nigeria’s Independence anniversary, calling on all Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Tinubu in the collective effort to build a peaceful, secure, and prosperous nation.
