Fidelity Advert

History was made in Ezeagu Local Government Area on Monday, September 29, 2025, as the Executive Chairman, Dr. Vita Ndu, fulfilled a major campaign promise with the completion and delivery of the 1.6km Agba Umana–Ugwunwamgbara–Ebenebe asphalt road.

The road was officially commissioned by the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Chidiebere Onyia.

Speaking with joy and a sense of accomplishment, Dr. Ndu said the road was the only request made by the people of Agba Umana during his campaign tour, and he was delighted to have fulfilled that promise.

“The people of Agba Umana asked for just one thing—this road. Today, I am glad that promise has been kept,” he declared.

The Secretary-General of Agba Umana Town Union, Chief Okechukwu Anthony Oha, described the project as a life-saving intervention.

“Before now, the road was a death trap and a kidnapping zone. With this development, the community will never forget the transformation,” he said.

Welcoming the SSG, Dr. Ndu reaffirmed his commitment to honest and purposeful service to Ndi Ezeagu. He highlighted the road’s economic and strategic importance, linking Enugu State (Ezeagu) to Awka, Anambra State’s capital, through Ebenebe.

“This road was built to high engineering standards, with a thickness of 40mm, a width of 8 meters, and five cross culverts on a swampy terrain,” he explained.

“I must thank Governor Mbah for his exemplary leadership. His vision has inspired us to align our developmental goals with that of the state to grow Enugu’s economy.”

Commissioning the project, Prof. Onyia praised the pace of progress in Ezeagu, recalling that during an earlier stakeholders’ meeting, Dr. Ndu’s election had been widely regarded as the right choice.

“Having seen his achievements, foresight, and pedigree, Ndi Ezeagu made no mistake. Governor Mbah remains committed to rural development. Beyond this project, we are rolling out Smart Green Schools and Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centers across all 20 wards of Ezeagu,” Onyia stated.

The commissioning ceremony drew a large gathering of dignitaries, including Deputy Chairman Chief Mrs. Nkiru Ugwuagu; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Innocent Okozor; state government officials; community leaders; clergy; party stalwarts; project consultants; and residents of Agba Umana.

The day was described by locals as a “new dawn” for Ezeagu, with the road expected to boost local commerce, facilitate access to markets, and ease the evacuation of perishable agricultural products.

The event reaffirmed Dr. Vita Ndu’s reputation as “a leader of action, keeping promises, and transforming communities.”
