A major political realignment has unfolded in Enugu State as the Enugu South Advocates — the largest political pressure group in Enugu South Local Government Area — officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

Led by Hon. Uche Kelvin Edeh, the group announced their defection on October 14, 2025, describing the move as a strategic decision to align with the federal government and unlock greater development opportunities for the state.

Hon. Edeh, popularly known as “Tech Guru,” praised Governor Mbah’s leadership, noting that his administration has set a new standard in infrastructure delivery and people-focused governance.

“With formidable infrastructure and people-oriented policies, there is no doubt Enugu State is on the path of progress,” Hon. Edeh said.

He highlighted the Governor’s commitment to technology-driven development, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance as key factors behind the group’s decision.

“Governor Mbah understands the language of modern governance. By prioritizing technology and infrastructure, he is positioning Enugu for the future. That’s why we are standing with him on this new political journey,” Edeh added.

Hon. Edeh, who also serves as Founder and CEO of Hookninjas Ltd, emphasized that the defection reflects a shared vision for growth and progress, not just politics.

The group’s decision underscores the growing momentum behind the Governor’s move to the ruling APC — a shift many analysts believe will strengthen Enugu State’s ties with the federal government and attract more resources for development.

The Enugu South Advocates said their allegiance to Governor Mbah’s leadership is rooted in visible transformation across critical sectors, including infrastructure, technology, and youth empowerment.

“Effective leadership goes beyond party lines. What matters is impact, and Governor Mbah has shown that through action,” the group declared.

The defection marks a consolidation of political forces around a shared vision for inclusive development, signaling a reshaped political landscape in Enugu State and renewed optimism for accelerated growth.
