Fidelity Advert

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has issued a stern warning to his newly appointed commissioners, declaring that none of them will be spared if they fail to wear a cap bearing the insignia of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of Nigeria.

Governor Okpebholo delivered the warning on Tuesday during the swearing-in ceremony of his commissioners in Benin City, the state capital.

He openly expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the role he played in his political journey, stressing that his governorship victory would have been unlikely without the President’s backing.

“I want to thank Mr. President for standing by me. Without his support, my emergence as the governor of Edo State might not have been possible,” Okpebholo said.

The cap insignia — a long-standing personal trademark of President Tinubu — has become a powerful symbol of loyalty among his supporters, who often replicate the design on their own caps and attire.

Governor Okpebholo’s directive is widely seen as both a public show of allegiance to the President and a signal of the political tone his administration intends to set in the state.
