Canva, one of the world’s most popular online graphic design platforms, suffered a major outage on Monday, locking millions of users around the globe out of their accounts and disrupting ongoing projects.
The unexpected downtime triggered widespread frustration among designers, marketers, content creators, and businesses that rely heavily on the platform for branding, marketing materials, and social media content production.
In a brief statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Canva acknowledged the disruption and assured users that work was underway to restore services.
“Not the ideal situation right now, but we’re working on it. You can check canvastatus.com for updates. We’ll keep you posted!” the company wrote.
Reports indicated that both desktop and mobile users were affected, with many experiencing error messages, sluggish load times, or being completely unable to log in.
Canva, which boasts over 170 million monthly active users across more than 190 countries, has become an essential tool for individuals, small businesses, schools, and media organisations seeking quick, professional design solutions.
As of press time, the company had yet to disclose the cause of the outage or provide a timeline for when full service would resume. The downtime has sparked conversations online about the heavy reliance of global creative workflows on cloud-based platforms.
