Enugu SME mbah

The Enugu State Government, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has unveiled another transformative initiative aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs and strengthening the state’s creative economy through the Enugu Fashion Incubation Training (EFIT) program.

The flagship program, hosted at the Enugu Fashion & Garment Hub, is a collaboration between the EnuguSME Center/Office of Digital Economy and Coal City Couture. It is designed to nurture a new generation of skilled fashion designers, tailors, and garment producers capable of competing at global standards.

According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital Economy and MSMEs and Director-General of the Enugu SME Center, Arinze Chilo-Offiah, the program reflects Governor Mbah’s commitment to repositioning Enugu as Nigeria’s skill capital — a hub where “creativity meets industry and innovation meets opportunity.”

“Fashion is more than fabric — it’s creativity, culture, and opportunity,” Chilo-Offiah stated, noting that the EFIT program is not merely a training initiative but a catalyst for job creation, enterprise development, and economic inclusion for the youths of the state.

Chilo-Offiah encouraged young and creative individuals across the state to seize the opportunity, describing the initiative as part of the broader Tomorrow Is Here agenda — a policy vision focused on youth empowerment, digital inclusion, and sustainable economic growth.

“This is more than a training program. It is a launchpad for innovation, self-reliance, and prosperity,” he said. “We are building a future where the Enugu youth can turn creativity into impact and transform their skills into thriving businesses.”
