The Chairman of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Governing Council, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, has congratulated Enugu’s illustrious son, Joel Eze, for clinching the Global Innovator Award of Excellence at the NextGen Innovation Challenge Grand Finale 2025, held at the Hilton Hotel, Paddington, London.

The high-profile event was attended by dignitaries, including the Nigerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, H.E. Ambassador Abu Ogbe, who joined in celebrating Nigeria’s emerging innovators. The ceremony also recognized the groundbreaking contributions of Interface Africa and other African visionaries who are redefining innovation on the global stage.

Eze, the Chief Executive Officer of OmniPower Innovation Ltd and Founder of DeDoc – A Doctor in Every Home 24/7, was received by Sir Ohaa on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in a warm reception that celebrated his international achievement and dedication to innovation.

In his remarks, Sir Ohaa expressed gratitude to God for Eze’s success, describing him as “an inspiration to the younger generation.” He further emphasized the need for greater government backing for young innovators, noting that “gestures like this are part of what government should support and sponsor.”

The former Federal Permanent Secretary at the FCT Ministry also praised Eze’s creativity and determination, saying, “The future is bright, and with the potential I have seen, the sky is the limit.” He assured that he would continue to offer encouragement and support to ensure Eze’s healthcare innovation becomes a reality.

A visibly elated Eze expressed deep appreciation to Sir Ohaa for his unwavering support, saying, “This award wouldn’t have been possible without the huge support of Sir Ohaa. God used him to make this possible when all hope was almost gone.”

He reaffirmed his commitment to actualizing the vision of DeDoc – A Doctor in Every Home 24/7, stressing that the initiative will “revolutionize quality healthcare for people across communities.”
