The Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, Architect Chibuikem Onyekachi Emmanuel, has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Strategic Leadership by Abraham University, Texas, United States of America, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to leadership, business innovation, and community development.
The honorary degree was presented during the university’s 2025 Leadership Conference held in Abuja earlier in October. The event, organized by the Department of Global Leadership Development, brought together leading figures from education, governance, business, and ministry.
Speaking with journalists shortly after receiving the award, Architect Onyekachi expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, describing it as “a call to greater service and commitment to humanity.”
“Leadership is not about titles but about influence, vision, and the ability to inspire others toward a collective purpose,” he said.
The young business executive, known for his visionary leadership in Nigeria’s housing sector, noted that he finds fulfillment in mentoring young people, helping them to discover their potential early in life and guiding them to become “better versions of themselves.”
Reflecting on the significance of the award, Onyekachi stated that the recognition from an international institution like Abraham University represents “years of dedication, innovation, and faith-driven leadership.”
“This honor inspires me to keep pushing the boundaries of excellence. At Powell Homes, we will continue to set new standards in providing affordable, quality housing and creating sustainable job opportunities for young Nigerians,” he added.
He also underscored the importance of integrity and consistency in business, stressing that leadership must always be anchored on service and positive impact, not personal gain.
“True leadership is not measured by how much we achieve individually, but by how many lives we touch and how many people we help rise,” he said.
The Abuja event was part of Abraham University’s nationwide leadership engagement, which also held sessions in Lagos and Makurdi, aimed at equipping participants with the principles of global leadership, ethics, and excellence.
With this latest recognition, Architect Chibuikem Onyekachi Emmanuel joins the growing list of young African entrepreneurs and leaders whose innovative contributions continue to earn global acknowledgment.
