The family feud between Nollywood star Regina Daniels and her billionaire husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has taken a dramatic turn as Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, publicly accused the lawmaker of humiliating her family and exploiting her daughter’s fame and finances.
In an emotional video now circulating on social media, Rita Daniels alleged that the Delta North senator ordered the arrest of two of her children—Regina’s elder brother and sister—after the actress reportedly refused to return to him or undergo rehabilitation as he allegedly demanded.
“Ned, which money do you have? Regina is the one covering you. When you were campaigning, Regina gave you a whopping $50,000 for your election. People call us gold diggers,” Rita Daniels fumed in the video recorded at night amid visible tension.
“You used Regina’s high star to boost your fallen star.”
The visibly emotional mother also criticised Nwoko’s handling of his family, saying his children “don’t look like the kids of a billionaire,” and accused him of weaponising his influence to intimidate the Daniels family.
Her outburst came shortly after Regina herself broke her silence, alleging intimidation and emotional manipulation by her estranged husband. The 24-year-old actress claimed her family members were being targeted because she refused to reconcile on his terms.
“I’ve tried to stay quiet even after he called me names, but enough is enough. Must things always go south when both partners are no longer interested?” Regina wrote on Instagram.
She further lamented that she had been wrongly labelled a drug addict, saying she had endured humiliation and false accusations for too long.
According to her, “Someone please, help me! I feel like I’m losing my mind. My brother and sister have been arrested, and my baby sister might be next. All because I refused to return and ‘go back to rehab,’ as he said.”
Rita Daniels, in her video, maintained that Nwoko had benefitted immensely from her daughter’s celebrity status, claiming Regina not only financed his 2023 senatorial campaign but also helped rebuild his public image.
“He used her fame to rise again politically. Regina stood by him when others mocked him, yet today, he’s turning against her and our family. It’s unacceptable,” she said.
The latest confrontation marks a new low in what has become an increasingly bitter public fallout between the actress and her husband.
Their once-celebrated marriage—praised for its lavish lifestyle but criticised for its wide age gap—has in recent months faced intense public scrutiny, with allegations of domestic strife, emotional abuse, and now, family arrests.
As of press time, Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, has not responded to the latest allegations by Rita Daniels and her daughter.
However, the saga continues to dominate social media conversations, with fans expressing concern over Regina’s safety and calling for an independent investigation into the claims.
