The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed steady progress in the collation of results from Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State, with 82.76% of polling unit results successfully uploaded to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV) as of 5:25 p.m.
A check on the portal revealed that results from 4,734 polling units had been uploaded out of a total of 5,720 units spread across the 21 local government areas of the state.
The development signals an advanced stage in the result collation process, as electoral officers continue transmitting data from the remaining polling units to the central database.
INEC had earlier assured political parties, observers, and voters that results would be released in phases following due verification, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and credibility in the electoral process.
Election observers commended the progress but emphasized that the final outcome of the poll would only be determined after all polling unit results are fully uploaded, collated, and officially announced by the Commission.
