The administration of Governor Peter Mbah has extended its Digital Literacy Training Programme to local government civil servants across all 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State, in a bold move to deepen digital inclusion and enhance smart governance at the grassroots.

The initiative, which is being executed through the Enugu SME Center and Office of Digital Economy (Enugu SME & Startup Agency), is in partnership with Barr. Nana Ogbodo, Chairman of the Enugu Local Government Service Commission.

According to Arinze Chilo-Offiah, Special Adviser to the Governor on MSMEs and Digital Economy and Director General of the Enugu SME Center, the ongoing onboarding of staff at LGA secretariats marks a new phase in building a “future-ready civil service” that aligns with the Mbah administration’s vision for a digitally driven and efficient public sector.

“Our goal is to ensure that every local government in Enugu State becomes an active part of the digital transformation journey — from the Lion Building to the remotest LGA,” Chilo-Offiah stated.

He added that the programme represents Governor Mbah’s unwavering commitment to fostering inclusive growth, empowering the public workforce with relevant digital skills, and positioning Enugu as a hub for innovation and technology-driven governance.
