The Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, Architect Dr. Chibuikem Onyekachi Emmanuel, has lauded the appointment of Dr. Udeh as Nigeria’s new Minister of Science and Technology, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of excellence, intellect, and service to the nation.
Speaking with newsmen in Enugu on Saturday, Dr. Onyekachi said Dr. Udeh’s elevation — coming after a distinguished tenure as the former Attorney General of Enugu State — demonstrates the federal government’s renewed commitment to competence, innovation, and results-oriented leadership.
“Dr. Udeh is a shining light whose dedication to progress and national development remains topnotch,” he stated.
“His leadership shows mens rea of excellence and actus reus of service, and his innovative drive is backed by years of solid experience in governance.”
According to the Powell Homes boss, Dr. Udeh embodies bona fide intentions toward national growth, adding that his sterling antecedents in Enugu State prove his capacity to translate vision into tangible results.
“Nigeria’s journey toward technological advancement requires men of integrity, creativity, and courage to act — traits Dr. Udeh has in abundance,” he said.
“His approach to science and innovation typifies a rare blend of intellect and practicality, traits that distinguish true leaders from mere officeholders.”
Dr. Onyekachi expressed strong confidence that the new minister’s appointment will inspire a new generation of Nigerian scientists, innovators, and professionals. He described Dr. Udeh’s forward-thinking nature and progressive policy outlook as rare and timely in Nigeria’s current development drive.
Reflecting on Udeh’s time as Attorney General, he noted that his policies promoted fairness, justice, and inclusivity in governance.
“During his tenure as Attorney General, his policies reflected the principle of audi alteram partem — let the other side be heard — a mindset that continues to guide his participatory and transparent approach to leadership,” he explained.
Dr. Onyekachi further praised the minister’s humility and accessibility, saying that despite his new federal role, he remains grounded and people-oriented.
“His philosophy of service shows salus populi suprema lex — the welfare of the people is the highest law. His work is not just about technology; it is about improving lives and empowering people,” he added.
Calling Dr. Udeh “a beloved elder brother and a true servant of the people,” Dr. Onyekachi expressed optimism that his leadership will leave an indelible mark on Nigeria’s path to progress.
“He is not just a public figure to me; he is my dearest big brother,” he said warmly.
“His vision, integrity, and sincerity give hope that leadership can truly serve the people. His appointment is indeed a blessing to Nigeria. He will bring innovations that will transform our dear country.”
Dr. Onyekachi also extended appreciation to Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for giving Dr. Udeh the platform to demonstrate his competence in Enugu, and to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recognizing and entrusting him with a critical role at the federal level.
“Governor Mbah saw the excellence in him and gave him space to serve. President Tinubu, by appointing him, has shown that this administration rewards merit and vision,” he concluded.
