The traditional ruler of Ogugu Ntu Egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, His Royal Highness, Igwe Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr (Ubaojene II), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, SAN, as the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, describing the decision as “a masterstroke that recognizes excellence, intellect, and integrity.”
In a congratulatory statement issued in Enugu over the weekend, Igwe Ogbonna said Dr. Udeh’s appointment represents a “well-deserved recognition of one of the finest brains from Enugu State,” noting that his career has been consistently defined by discipline, brilliance, and a deep commitment to national growth.
“Dr. Udeh’s appointment is a proud moment for Enugu State and a well-deserved recognition of a man whose career has been defined by excellence and an uncommon dedication to national development,” the monarch stated.
He praised President Tinubu for his keen eye for talent and capacity, adding that appointing someone of Udeh’s calibre to head such a strategic ministry reflects the administration’s seriousness about innovation-driven governance.
“The President has once again shown his ability to identify capable minds. By bringing Dr. Udeh on board, Nigeria stands to benefit immensely from his depth of knowledge, creativity, and forward-looking ideas,” Igwe Ogbonna said.
The royal father described Dr. Udeh as a visionary leader whose passion for progress and transformation will greatly influence the nation’s technological and scientific advancement.
“He is someone who always brings innovation, discipline, and purpose to every responsibility he undertakes. His leadership will reflect strongly in this new national assignment,” the traditional ruler noted.
Igwe Ogbonna also extended warm commendations to Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his continued support and mentorship of young and competent individuals, including Dr. Udeh, during his service as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State.
“Governor Mbah’s leadership style—one that promotes youth-driven excellence and gives room for competence to thrive—has once again placed Enugu in the spotlight of national recognition,” the monarch added.
He recalled that Dr. Udeh’s tenure as Attorney General was marked by energy, vision, and creativity, leading to significant modernization in the state’s legal and judicial systems.
“His contributions to Enugu’s justice system have left a legacy that continues to inspire both young professionals and the larger society,” Igwe Ogbonna stated.
Expressing optimism about the new minister’s capacity to make the people of Enugu and the entire Southeast proud, the monarch urged him to channel his vast knowledge, integrity, and sense of purpose into driving innovation for the growth and stability of Nigeria.
“Dr. Udeh’s intellect and forward-thinking mindset will help our country achieve greater technological productivity and global competitiveness,” he emphasized.
Concluding his statement, Igwe Ogbonna prayed for divine wisdom and strength for the new minister, describing his appointment as a divine call to serve and a testament to the power of visionary leadership.
“I pray that God grants him wisdom, strength, and vision as he embarks on this new chapter of service to our great nation,” the royal father said.
