Nollywood star Regina Daniels has fired back at her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, in a blistering public statement accusing the Delta North lawmaker of emotional abuse, manipulation, and lies—just hours after he alleged that she was battling drug addiction and that her brother, Sammy West, had been harassing his family.
Taking to Instagram in the early hours of Sunday, Regina described Ned’s allegations as “open lies” aimed at isolating her and destroying her family’s image.
“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without even small remorse? You know my family has absolutely nothing to do with this,” she wrote.
“You have always tried to cut them off because of the bond we share, and now you are trying to make them look bad for no reason.”
The 26-year-old actress admitted to using drugs in the past but accused the senator of weaponising her vulnerability to shift attention from the real issues behind their troubled relationship.
“Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us?” she wrote. “The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs,’ because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media—something dramatic enough to distract everyone from the real issue!”
Regina went further, accusing the politician of using law enforcement to target her loved ones in an attempt to isolate and control her.
“You want to find a reason to arrest everyone around me so that I will have no one left beside me, no friend, no support, no safe place to turn to,” she said.
“Then, when I’m completely isolated and broken, I will be forced to come back to you because I will have nowhere else to go. That has always been your strategy—break people down, make them weak and powerless, and then have your way with them.”
In a shocking twist, the actress accused Ned of hypocrisy, claiming he once encouraged her drug use because he preferred her that way.
“You say you want me to go for rehab, but you are the same Ned who always wanted me high because, in your words, I’m ‘sexier’ when I’m high,” she alleged.
“You liked me that way because it made me wild and romantic, exactly how you wanted me to be.”
She also leveled grave allegations of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and forced confinement.
“Why don’t you also tell them how you force yourself on me whenever I say no?” Regina asked.
“Why don’t you tell them how you lock me up, seize my phones, and suddenly declare me ‘mentally unstable’ the moment I say I no longer want to be in this relationship?”
According to her, Ned allegedly forced her to take psychiatric medications, claiming they were for her “mental stability.”
“Why don’t you also tell them how you lock me up and tell doctors to inject me with drugs meant for people with bipolar disorder?” she wrote.
Regina then dropped another bombshell—claiming there was never a legal marriage between them.
“I would have filed for divorce long ago if there was ever a legal marriage between us,” she revealed.
“We were never married in any court of law, and no documents were signed. Leave me alone, Ned. Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force.”
The actress insisted that no amount of financial support from the senator could equate to what she sacrificed.
“No matter how much you think you spent on me, it can never equal the value of the time I gave you, my prime years, my energy, and the career opportunities I sacrificed while being with you,” she wrote.
Her fiery post came hours after Senator Nwoko released a lengthy statement on X (formerly Twitter), accusing Regina’s brother, Sammy West, of drug abuse, harassment, and violent behaviour.
“These videos show Sammy, Regina’s brother, repeatedly coming to my home and harassing my children and domestic staff,” Nwoko claimed.
“When Regina started her rehabilitation, her siblings constantly defied doctors’ instructions and smuggled in drugs she was being treated for.”
He also alleged that he had spent over ₦125 million supporting Regina’s family in recent years.
But Regina’s account painted a much darker picture — one of control, fear, and manipulation.
“You are feeling rejected and hurt, and you are struggling to make peace with the fact that it’s all over,” she concluded.
With both sides trading heavy accusations, the Regina-Ned saga has exploded into one of Nigeria’s most dramatic celebrity scandals yet — a messy public feud that continues to grip fans across the country.
