President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh shake-up in two major federal agencies, redeploying and appointing senior officials in what the Presidency describes as a move to deepen transparency and strengthen public-sector performance.
In a statement signed by the Director of Information & Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, the President announced the immediate redeployment of Hon. Musa Sarkin Adar from his role as Chairman of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) to serve as the new Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).
Similarly, President Tinubu approved the appointment of Mukhtar Shehu Shagari, CFR, as the new Chairman of NIWA, taking over from Sarkin Adar.
“Both the redeployment and appointment take immediate effect,” the statement noted.
President Tinubu urged the newly assigned officials to demonstrate patriotism, dedication, and a commitment to strengthening the integrity of their institutions.
According to the statement, the President expects them to “bring their wealth of experience to bear in strengthening transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery within their respective agencies.”
