The Enugu State Government has launched the Enugu Startup Incubation Program (ESIP), an ambitious initiative designed to empower young innovators with the structure, strategy, and support needed to transform ideas into scalable businesses.
Officials say the programme is a direct expression of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s vision to position the state as Nigeria’s leading hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and high-growth startups.
According to the organisers, “Every big company started as a rough idea in someone’s notebook. The difference between a dream and a real business is structure, strategy, and the right support system. That is exactly what ESIP delivers.”
A Multi-Partner Initiative Driving Innovation
ESIP is powered by a coalition of development-focused partners, including the Enugu MSME & Startup Agency (Enugu SME Center), the Startup Development Centre (SDC), the B4B Network, and Capitis Global Ventures Limited.
Together, they are offering a comprehensive 6-week programme aimed at helping founders:
- Validate and refine business ideas
- Build strong and scalable business models
- Understand customers and gain real market traction
- Develop investor-ready pitches and fundraising strategies
An official involved in the programme noted, “Whether you’re just starting out or already building, ESIP gives you the structure and strategy to grow confidently — rooted in the Coal City, ready for the world.”
A Call to Young Innovators
The programme is targeting ambitious youths and early-stage entrepreneurs across the Southeast and beyond. Organisers say it is particularly suited for individuals who believe their idea has potential but lack the technical or strategic guidance to scale.
“If you’ve ever thought: ‘This idea can become something big…’ this is your moment,” the organisers added.
With Governor Mbah’s administration prioritising innovation-driven growth, ESIP is positioned as a strategic pipeline for producing homegrown startups capable of attracting investment, creating jobs, and driving economic expansion in Enugu State.
