Fidelity Advert

The Concerned Youth of Nsukka Local Government Area have blown the lid off what they describe as a deliberate, well-orchestrated plot to smear the Executive Chairman, Engr. Jude Asogwa, using false narratives and manipulated online reports.

In a strongly worded statement on Wednesday, the group condemned the allegations circulating on social media as “calculated, malicious, and engineered to mislead the unsuspecting public.”

They accused unnamed political actors of sponsoring the misinformation, saying the goal is to distract the Chairman from the massive development projects currently ongoing across the local government.

According to the youths, online propagandists intentionally twisted the incident involving Mr. Solomon Onah, pushing a narrative that falsely linked the Council Chairman to an altercation he did not witness, did not authorize, and did not know about.

The group insists that the truth—conveniently omitted by those spreading the lies—is that the confrontation stemmed from a personal quarrel among peers over a woman, not politics, governance, or any directive from the council leadership.

“The facts are clear: this was a private dispute between Solomon Onah and his associates,” the group said.
“It had absolutely nothing to do with the Chairman. Dragging Engr. Asogwa’s name into it is not just irresponsible—it is a deliberate act of blackmail.”

They further alleged that certain individuals, threatened by the Chairman’s rising profile and visible achievements, are now resorting to cheap propaganda, fake narratives, and digital character assassination to regain relevance.

“These actors are not interested in truth. Their only interest is to manufacture chaos and weaponize gossip for personal gain,” the statement added.

The youths urged members of the public to treat the viral claims with the “utter contempt they deserve,” describing them as the handiwork of people uncomfortable with the pace of development in Nsukka.

They warned that Nsukka will not allow politically motivated actors to destabilize governance, undermine progress, or drag the local government backward through lies and intimidation.

Reaffirming their support for the Executive Chairman, the group stated:
“Engr. Asogwa is focused on delivering projects, not on trading words with blackmailers. Nsukka stands with him.”

They called on all stakeholders to reject misinformation and work collectively to protect the integrity of the administration, stressing that unity—not propaganda—is what the community needs to move forward.
