The Enugu State Government has celebrated another milestone in its drive to build a technologically skilled workforce as more than 120 young people graduated from the Enugu VSAT Training Programme, a collaboration between the Enugu MSaME & Startup Agency (formerly SME Center/Office of Digital Economy) and NigComSat.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Special Adviser to the Governor on MSMEs and Digital Economy, Arinze Chilo-Offiah, said the initiative reflects Governor Peter Mbah’s commitment to empowering young people with practical skills that ensure employability and inclusion.

“This isn’t just training. This is the Peter Mbah Administration’s digital vision in action — skills, empowerment, tools, with no one left behind,” Chilo-Offiah said.

The graduates received full certification as VSAT installation professionals alongside industry-standard toolkits to help them begin work immediately in the fast-expanding satellite broadband sector.

Chilo-Offiah emphasized that one of the most significant highlights of the programme was its strong gender inclusion framework.
“Women were not just participants; they were front and center,” he said. “This proves once again that the digital economy must be built with balance, equity, and opportunity for all.”

The trainees were equipped with competencies ranging from satellite broadband configuration to field diagnostics, positioning them to contribute directly to Nigeria’s connectivity goals.

According to the organizers, the programme aligns with the administration’s broader digital transformation agenda, which focuses on innovation, skills development, and creating equitable pathways into tech-driven careers.
