The Chairman of Rhino Group, Engr. Chinedu Onyeizu, has restated his firm commitment to delivering what he described as a world-class Ekeoha Shopping Centre in Aba, Abia State — a transformative commercial complex currently being developed by Rhino Homes and Properties Ltd.
During an inspection tour and media briefing, Engr. Onyeizu said the project would reposition Aba as the textile and garment capital of Africa, elevating the city’s economic relevance and attracting regional trade.
According to him, the vision for the Ekeoha Shopping Centre transcends the traditional marketplace model.
He declared, “This project is not just for Aba or Abia State alone. It is for Nigeria and for Africa. When completed, Ekeoha Shopping Centre will serve as the heartbeat of textile commerce on the continent.”
Speaking on construction progress, the Rhino Group Chairman disclosed that over 80 percent of work has been completed across several blocks, with significant advancements visible in others. He noted that the only remaining challenge involved one block previously sealed following a prop-related structural incident about two months ago.
He clarified that the affected block has now been unsealed and work has resumed.
Engr. Onyeizu assured, “All engineering assessments and safety measures are being meticulously handled. Structural integrity remains our top priority, and no part of this project will be delivered below standard.”
Observers on the tour confirmed extensive work across the massive complex, including roofing, internal fittings, and finishing stages already underway. The scale and design of the shopping centre, strategically located in one of Aba’s busiest commercial corridors, signal its potential to transform the city into a modern, globally competitive trading powerhouse.
Reaffirming Rhino Homes’ commitment, Onyeizu stressed that quality, safety, and durability are non-negotiable.
He added, “We are determined to deliver a shopping centre that will stand the test of time and compete with the best commercial hubs anywhere in the world.”
Engr. Onyeizu also commended Governor Alex Otti for providing the enabling environment and pushing forward infrastructure renewal across the state, saying his administration’s reforms have accelerated investor confidence and commercial growth.
