Fidelity Advert

Engr. Chinedu Onyeizu has applauded the disclosure by the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on the plan to establish a WTO sub-office in Aba, Abia State, describing the move as a powerful testament to the growing global recognition of Aba’s rising economic profile under the administration of Governor Alex Otti.

Engr. Onyeizu noted that this historic disclosure by Dr Okonjo-Iweala did not come as a surprise to keen observers of development in Abia, stressing that Governor Otti’s landmark policies, bold economic reforms, massive infrastructure renewal, urban regeneration, and improved security architecture have repositioned Aba as a major destination for local and international investment.

“This is what visionary leadership delivers,” Onyeizu stated. “Governor Alex Otti has restored confidence in governance, revived infrastructure, strengthened security, and created an enabling environment for businesses to flourish. The world is responding, and the WTO’s proposed presence in Aba is clear proof that the new Abia is attracting global attention.”

Describing Aba as the timeless ‘Japan of Africa’, Onyeizu observed that the famed resilience, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit of the city are now being amplified on the world stage through deliberate and people-centred governance.

He further highlighted the strategic importance of the Ekeoha-Aba International Textile Market, which, according to him, will serve as a major catalyst in deepening Aba’s commercial expansion.

“When completed, the Ekeoha-Aba International Textile Market will massively boost commerce in Aba, expand market access for traders, attract international buyers, create thousands of jobs, and firmly reposition Aba as Africa’s foremost textile and garment hub,” he said.

Engr. Onyeizu concluded by expressing strong optimism that, under Governor Otti’s transformational leadership, Aba’s economic renaissance is no longer a projection but an unfolding reality, adding that the attention of global institutions like the WTO only confirms that Aba’s best days are firmly ahead.
