The Anambra State Police Command has announced the arrest of five suspects linked to a coordinated armed robbery and vandalism incident at an international company in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area.
The operation, carried out on the evening of December 8, 2025, was led by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awkuzu, in collaboration with personnel from the Neni Divisional Headquarters. The team was acting on a follow-up investigation into a reported case of conspiracy and armed robbery.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the arrests led to the recovery of one pump-action gun, ten live cartridges, and one black motorcycle believed to have been used in the operation.
The suspects were identified as Okemili Chikwado (20), Collins Nwakpa (23), Chukwuemeka Igboke (18), Nwali Chinedu (18), and Ekene Nwakwo (22).
SP Ikenga disclosed that all five suspects admitted to participating in the attack during interrogation. “The suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime and named one Arinze as their major receiver of the stolen properties,” he said.
He further noted that the Command has intensified efforts to track down additional members of the gang. “Further investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to apprehend other fleeing suspects and recover the stolen or vandalised equipment,” the PPRO stated.
The statement, signed by SP Ikenga Tochukwu on December 11, 2025, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks across the state.
