President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, on his birthday, celebrating what he described as a life of purpose, courage, and exceptional public service.
In a statement issued on December 13, 2025, and signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President joined family, friends, and associates in marking Wike’s birthday on December 13, thanking God for his impactful career in public office.
President Tinubu described the former Rivers State governor as an audacious and results-driven leader who consistently defies obstacles to deliver tangible outcomes.
He particularly acknowledged the ongoing transformation of the Federal Capital Territory under Wike’s leadership, citing the Minister’s recent intervention that resolved the 14-year delay in the construction of the Apo–Karshi Road as a landmark achievement.
The President commended Wike’s resilience, can-do attitude, and commitment to excellence, noting that these qualities have defined his performance across various assignments.
According to the statement, Tinubu expressed appreciation for the Minister’s consistency in delivering results and wished him good health and renewed strength to sustain the pace of development in the FCT.
“Nyesom Wike has been one of the shining stars in the cabinet, an exceptional performer, developing infrastructure in the Federal Capital as never seen before and proving that his moniker as ‘Mr Project’ is not limited to his home state of Rivers,” the President said.
“I commend him for being one of the champions of our Renewed Hope Agenda, even though he belongs to another party, and wish him well as he marks another year in his life journey.”
The message underscored President Tinubu’s recognition of bipartisan commitment to national development, as well as his confidence in Wike’s continued contributions to the transformation of Abuja and the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
