The Chairmen’s Forum of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has disclaimed a purported congress schedule allegedly issued from the office of the party’s National Secretary, describing the document as illegal, invalid and unknown to the party’s leadership.
In a disclaimer issued on December 15, 2025, and jointly signed by Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga, State Chairman of ADC Kogi State and Chairman of the ADC Chairmen’s Forum, and Hon. Kennedy Odion, State Chairman of ADC Edo State and Secretary of the Forum, the group said it met with the National Chairman of the party, Senator David Mark, to clarify the matter.
According to the statement, Senator Mark “categorically” denied originating the publication in question and further confirmed that he neither authorised nor had prior knowledge of the document. The Forum added that the alleged congress schedule is also unknown to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
“The further confirmed that neither authorised nor had prior knowledge of the document, and that it is unknown to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party,” the statement read.
Based on these clarifications, the Chairmen’s Forum declared the publication “illegal, invalid, and of no effect whatsoever,” urging party members, stakeholders and the general public to completely disregard it and refrain from acknowledging the document.
The Forum also dismissed claims or insinuations contained in the document suggesting that congresses would be held across the states of the federation for the ADC at the local government and state levels, describing such claims as false and misleading.
“Accordingly, any claims, notices, or insinuations contained therein suggesting that congresses will be held across the states of the Federation for the ADC at the local government and state levels are false and should be disregarded in their entirety,” the statement said.
Reaffirming its stance, the Chairmen’s Forum used the opportunity to restate what it described as its “unalloyed loyalty” to Senator David Mark-led National Working Committee, while pledging continued commitment to the party’s success in future elections.
“We reiterate our unalloyed loyalty to the Senator David Mark-led National Working Committee and our commitment to the party’s success in all the upcoming elections, including the 2027 general election,” the signatories stated.
The statement was signed by Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga and Hon. Kennedy Odion on behalf of the ADC Chairmen’s Forum.
