Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has accused her former husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of allegedly orchestrating a campaign of intimidation against her, following the arrest of her close friend, Ann, whom she said committed no crime other than being associated with her.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by her communication team, Daniels described the arrest as persecution rather than justice, alleging that the actions were part of a broader attempt by her ex-husband to “break, humiliate, and destroy” her after their separation.

“Yesterday, my dearest close friend Ann was arrested — not because she committed a crime, but simply because she is associated with me,” Daniels said, questioning what she described as the motive behind the repeated confrontations.

She alleged that what should have remained a private marital dispute had escalated into what she called a “battlefield,” where innocent people were being targeted as collateral damage.

“When did divorce turn into a battlefield where innocent people become collateral damage? When did the Nigerian Police become tools in settling personal, marital disputes for the benefit of the more powerful spouse?” she asked.

Daniels directly linked the intimidation to her ex-husband, Senator Nwoko, accusing him of repeatedly fabricating allegations after earlier claims failed to hold.

According to her, what began as a domestic violence matter was deliberately buried under what she described as false accusations, including drug addiction claims, which she said she cleared peacefully without confrontation.

“When that failed, another story was invented — theft. First, Ann was accused of being a drug supplier. Now it is theft, cyberbullying, and assault,” she said. “How many lies will it take to bury the truth?”

The actress expressed concern over what she noted as the complicity of law enforcement authorities, stating that the police were aware when arrests were driven by intimidation rather than justice.

“They know when allegations are fabricated, designed only to frustrate, humiliate, and emotionally break a family. And still, they allow themselves to be used,” she said, adding that the situation was forcing her to question the credibility and compassion of the police.

Daniels further disclosed that she fears for both her friend’s safety and her own, alleging that her ex-husband’s actions had become increasingly disturbing.

“When a man refuses to listen to reason, to elders, to well-meaning voices who clearly see the truth, it becomes terrifying,” she said. “It starts to feel less like justice and more like a cruel game — one that brings him satisfaction, entertainment, even pleasure.”

In a direct message to Senator Nwoko, Daniels questioned his continued pursuit of fresh allegations after, according to her, previous claims had collapsed.

“You have lived the best part of your life. Why must mine be sacrificed to chaos?” she asked. “After eventually beating your theft allegations, what else do you have up your sleeve or under your red cap? Is this what brings you fulfillment?”

She stressed that the situation was not a game but a matter of real lives and safety.

“For me, this is not a game. This is my life, and these are real people,” Daniels said.

The statement concluded with a call for public attention to what she described as an abuse of power and a warning that the alleged intimidation may not be over.

“He seems willing to risk everything just to ruin me, and that is deeply disturbing,” she added. “Because it tells me this is only the beginning.”
