The All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified its grassroots mobilisation drive in Enugu State, as the party formally flagged off its e-registration exercise in Enugu East Senatorial Zone, with prominent political figures, including a former Senate President and members of the National Assembly, participating in the exercise.
The flag-off ceremony took place at Community Primary School, Amaechi Uwani, Awkunanaw— the hometown of former Senate President and APC zonal leader, Senator Ken Nnamani—drawing top party stakeholders from across the zone.
Among those in attendance were chairmen of Enugu South, Enugu North, Isi Uzo and Nkanu West Local Government Areas, as well as members of the House of Representatives representing Enugu North/South and Isi Uzo/Enugu East Federal Constituencies. Party executives and grassroots leaders were also present, signalling what observers described as a major political push by the APC in the state.
Speaking at the event, the Zonal Coordinator of the APC e-registration exercise for Enugu East Senatorial Zone, Uche Kelvin Edeh, who also serves as the Enugu State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP), described the registration exercise as a critical step in strengthening the party’s structure ahead of future political engagements.
Edeh urged elected officials, political appointees and party leaders—particularly members of the National Assembly, House of Assembly members and local government chairmen—to return to their respective constituencies and lead by example by mobilising residents to register with the APC.
He disclosed that the party had deployed five trained registration agents per ward, supported by five supervisors in each local government area, stressing that the exercise had been carefully planned to ensure efficiency and credibility.
“This exercise is strategic. It is about building a strong party from the grassroots. Our agents are trained, our supervisors are on ground, and people are already waiting in their wards to be registered,” Edeh said.

He called on residents across the senatorial zone to take advantage of the exercise, noting that mass registration would not only deepen participation in the party but also strengthen the APC’s electoral presence in Enugu State.
Edeh further appealed to citizens to register as a way of supporting the Enugu State Governor, pointing to ongoing development initiatives across the state, including road construction, smart schools, health centres and other infrastructure projects.
According to him, broad-based support through APC membership would consolidate the governor’s developmental agenda and position the party strongly for future elections.
The APC chieftain also urged residents to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration by registering with the party, citing federal road construction projects, economic reforms and signs of improved foreign exchange stability as evidence of the administration’s commitment to national development.

At the event, tributes were paid to Senator Ken Nnamani for his role in strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions during his tenure as Senate President. Edeh commended the former lawmaker’s continued leadership within the APC and offered prayers for his good health and wisdom as he continues to guide the party.
In his remarks, the Enugu State Coordinator of the APC e-registration exercise, Chief Flavor Eze charged the people of Enugu East Senatorial Zone to declare their support for the hardworking Governor of the State, Peter Mbah by registering to join APC.
Chief Eze noted that their support is crucial for the good work going on in Enugu to continue.
The e-registration exercise was also flagged off at Community Primary School, Ugwuaji, the country home of the member representing Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chimaobi Atu. The Ugwuaji event was attended by the local government chairman, deputy chairman and party faithful from the area.
Residents of Ugwuaji were urged to come out en masse to register, with party leaders emphasising that registration would enable them to fully participate in APC activities and future electoral processes.

Reiterating his message, Edeh praised the performance of the Enugu State Governor and President Tinubu, stressing that collective support through APC membership remains the most effective way to sustain ongoing development efforts at both state and federal levels.
