The All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration exercise gathered momentum in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State on Wednesday as the party formally flagged off the exercise in the council area, drawing top political figures and party faithful in large numbers.
The flag-off ceremony held at Eha-Amufu Ward 3, the political ward of the Council Chairman, Barrister Obiora Obeagu, attracted leaders and supporters of the APC, including the 2023 Labour Party governorship candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, who officially registered during the exercise.
Addressing party members at the event, Obeagu praised Governor Peter Mbah for what he described as visible development across the state, urging residents of Isi-Uzo to align with the APC at both state and federal levels.
“We are seeing real governance in action in Enugu State today,” Obeagu said. “I encourage our people to support the governor and the President so that development can continue and deepen.”
Shortly after registering, Edeoga also commended the state government’s development strides, citing investments in education, healthcare and infrastructure as evidence of purposeful leadership.
“What we are witnessing in Enugu today are tangible projects that touch the lives of the people,” Edeoga said. “From smart schools to modern hospitals and road infrastructure, the direction is clear and commendable.”
In his remarks, the State Coordinator of the APC e-registration exercise in Enugu State, Chief Flavor Eze, described the exercise as a strategic tool for strengthening the party and sustaining good governance at both state and national levels.
“Membership registration is a practical way of encouraging the government and showing support for the good work being done,” Eze stated. “It is about building a stronger political base for progress.”
Also speaking, the Zonal Coordinator of the APC e-registration exercise for Enugu East Senatorial Zone, Uche Kelvin Edeh—who doubles as the Enugu State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP)—said the massive turnout reflected growing acceptance of the party in the zone.
“A sustained and aggressive membership drive is the only way to consolidate the momentum we are seeing across the state,” Edeh said. “This is how we strengthen the party from the grassroots.”
The Isi-Uzo exercise marked another significant step in the APC’s ongoing statewide membership registration drive, aimed at expanding its grassroots presence ahead of future political engagements.
