Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence and former Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, is set to host an extraordinary family ceremony in Abuja, where nine of his children will be married on the same day in a single, large-scale wedding.

According to an invitation card currently circulating on social media, the joint wedding ceremony is scheduled for 1:30 pm on February 6, 2026, at the Central Mosque, Abuja.

The unprecedented celebration will see five sons and four daughters of the former Zamfara governor take their marital vows alongside their respective partners in one unified ceremony.

The invitation card lists the couples as Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muh’d, Nana Firdausi and Farida, highlighting the rare scale and coordination of the family event.

Confirming the development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris, told journalists that preparations for the ceremony were already at an advanced stage.

Idris described the wedding as a significant milestone for the Matawalle family, adding that committees had been constituted to ensure the event is orderly and successful.

He said the focus was on logistics and coordination to guarantee a smooth ceremony befitting the stature of the family and the scale of the occasion.

The planned mass wedding has sparked widespread reactions on social media and within political circles, with many observers noting the rarity of such a synchronised matrimonial ceremony involving multiple siblings.

Although an official guest list has yet to be released, the event is expected to attract top political figures, dignitaries and well-wishers from across Nigeria, potentially making it one of the most talked-about family ceremonies in the federal capital this year.
