Mallam Auwalu, the father of Umar Auwalu—the principal suspect in the gruesome killing of a housewife and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi area of Kano State—has called on the state government to ensure the immediate trial and execution of his son.
He made the startling demand on Monday during an interview with a local radio station in Kano, where he openly disowned the alleged actions of his son and urged authorities to act without delay.
According to Auwalu, individuals like Umar have no place in society and must be eliminated to restore sanity and protect innocent lives.
Speaking in Hausa, he further alleged: “I suspect that Umar was also behind the killing of the Dorayi housewife’s younger sister last month.”
He added that his son may have been involved in multiple criminal acts unknown to the family, insisting: “I am quite sure that Umar has been committing several crimes of which we were unaware; now that he has been arrested, he should be punished accordingly.”
Auwalu also warned against any delay in the judicial process, expressing fear of possible political interference. “I do not want the government or the security agencies to delay his trial. If he is allowed to remain in prison, some politicians may intervene to have him pardoned, and that would not bode well for our society,” he said.
