Fidelity Advert

The Deputy Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Stanley Uchenna Ezediuto, PhD, has fulfilled a security pledge made to Alachara Village in Mgbowo with the donation of security equipment aimed at strengthening community safety.

Ezediuto said the intervention followed a visit to him on December 3, 2025, by the Chairman of Alachara Village, Mr. Nnanna Jude Udeogu, and members of his executive, who appealed for support to address growing security challenges in the community.

According to him, the village leadership drew attention to recurring house burglaries and the increasing involvement of youths in hard drugs and other social vices.

“In response to this appeal, I made a firm commitment to support the community with essential security devices to strengthen their capacity to protect lives and property,” Ezediuto said.

He confirmed that the pledge has now been honoured with the delivery of critical security gadgets to the Alachara community security outfit.

“Today, I fulfilled that promise by donating a set of security equipment to the Alachara community security outfit,” he stated.

The donated items include six pairs of walkie-talkies, a solar-powered generator to ensure uninterrupted charging, two sets of solar-powered CCTV cameras, and a pair of multifunction self-defence devices, among other items.

Describing the donation as a modest contribution to grassroots security, Ezediuto said the initiative is expected to enhance vigilance and reduce crime in the community.

“This intervention is my modest contribution to enhancing security in Alachara Village, and I remain committed to doing more as we monitor their performance and witness a tangible reduction in criminal activities within the community,” he said.

He also disclosed that he formally introduced members of the community security outfit to the Divisional Police Officer, Awgu Divisional Headquarters, Officer Anagor Chinedu, to ensure cooperation and synergy with conventional security agencies.

“I made deliberate efforts to formally introduce them to the DPO, Awgu Divisional Headquarters, Officer Anagor Chinedu, to ensure effective cooperation and synergy with the security outfit,” Ezediuto added.

The donation was made in the presence of key community officials, including Mr. Nnanna Jude Udeogu (Chairman), Chief Okibe Donatus (Secretary), Ndubuisi Onuigbo (Public Relations Officer), and Ndubuisi Akachukwu (Member).

Ezediuto further revealed that similar security support would be extended to other villages within Mgbowo, to promote collaboration and enhance safety across the area.

“This gesture will also be extended to other villages in Mgbowo to ensure effective collaboration across the board,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to community safety, stressing that sustained collaboration remains essential to building safer communities.

“Together, we will continue to work towards a safer and more secure Alachara Village,” the Deputy Chairman said.
