President Bola Tinubu briefly missed his step and fell on Tuesday in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, during an official engagement.
The incident occurred as the Nigerian leader was walking alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, moments after a ceremonial parade held in his honour as part of the reception activities.
Video footage of the moment circulating online showed that the fall was triggered when a cameraman moved too close to the President as he walked, causing a brief disruption. Tinubu was, however, quickly assisted and continued with the event.

This is not the first time President Tinubu has drawn public attention following a similar incident.
During the June 12 Democracy Day celebrations in 2024, the President tripped while mounting an open-roof parade vehicle at Eagle Square, Abuja, during a ceremonial procession.
At the time, the President missed his step while entering the vehicle, but his security aides swiftly came to his aid, ensuring the programme continued without interruption.
Tinubu later addressed the incident at a dinner held to commemorate Democracy Day, offering a light-hearted explanation that quickly went viral.
“Early this morning, I had a swagger and it’s on the social media. They are confused whether I was doing buga or doing babbaringa, but it is a day to celebrate Democracy while doing dobale for the day. I am a traditional Yoruba boy, I did my dobale,” the President had said.
The Ankara incident has since attracted public attention online, adding to ongoing conversations around the President’s public appearances during official engagements abroad.
