The Chief Executive Officer of First Choice Afro Villa Ltd and Mburubu Construction Company, High Chief Dr. Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe, has led a massive grassroots mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mburubu community, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, as residents turned out in large numbers to register on the party’s ongoing e-registration exercise.

The political mobilisation, which highlights growing support for Governor Peter Mbah’s second-term ambition, attracted Ozo title holders, Ndi Nze, the oldest man of Mburubu community, women groups, youths, as well as key political stakeholders.

Notably, former ward chairmen of both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) openly declared their support for the APC during the event.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Onuokaibe commended the governor’s infrastructural footprint in the area, particularly ongoing road construction projects, describing them as unprecedented.

“The road construction projects are massive. Everything he is doing for us is overwhelming, and that is why we must appreciate and respect what this man has done for our people. We do not have other options. Other senatorial zones have completed their two tenures each.”

He stressed that the people of Nkanu East were united in ensuring Governor Mbah’s continuity in office.

“We are ready to fight for him. We do not want him to be part of any struggle. It is we, the Nkanu East people, who will ensure that he represents us in a second tenure.”

Dr. Onuokaibe attributed the surge in APC registration in the area to genuine public satisfaction with governance, dismissing claims of inducement.

“We are happy that Nkanu East has recorded one of the highest numbers, and we are still doing more. Why? Because the people love him. It is genuine love. He is not bribing anyone. Nobody is being paid. We naturally loves what he is doing for us.”

Declaring the community’s political direction in unmistakable terms, he said:

“APC, Peter Mbah, or nothing. There is no negotiation about that.”

Reacting to pockets of dissent and planned protests, he downplayed their significance, insisting that unity would prevail.

According to him, those involved are still brothers and normal members of society, noting that tensions will calm down. He maintained that there is no opposition, stressing that it is “Peter Mbah, 100 percent.”

Speaking at the event, Dr. Martins Chukwunweike, the immediate past Chairman of PDP in Enugu State, described the party as “a strategic platform for the governor’s re-election in 2027,” noting that Mbah came into office fully prepared to govern.

Dr. Chukwunweike said “APC remains a veritable tool for sustaining the development trajectory in the state,” adding that the governor’s campaign promises are being visibly fulfilled.

He urged the people of Mburubu to turn out massively in the coming elections and vote for the broom from top to bottom.

Dr. Chukwunweike further assured the community that Governor Mbah would secure a second term, citing his performance across Enugu State and his positioning for higher national responsibilities.

He also pledged that inclusiveness would define the party, stressing that everyone would be carried along, a promise he said would reflect clearly in the forthcoming ward congresses.

Also speaking, the leader of Umuada Peter Mbah (Peter Mbah’sWomen), Mrs. Peace Patrick, cautioned the people of Mburubu against political deception, reminding them that the governor is their son and that the dividends of his administration are evident.

“The smart school, Type II hospital and ongoing road construction in Mburubu is evident enough and as such, you have enough reason to support him for second tenure.”

She emphasised that support for the governor should begin with formal alignment with the ruling party.

“Your support will be made manifest by your registration to become member of APC and your son. Ozo Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe has demonstrated capacity to mobilise his people and we’re proud of him.”

Dr. Onuokaibe, in his closing remarks, expressed gratitude to Governor Mbah for appointing one of Mburubu’s sons as a commissioner in his cabinet, describing it as further proof of the administration’s inclusive approach to governance.
