The Deputy Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Stanley Uchenna Ezediuto, PhD, has declared himself the “King and Coordinator” of the Village Boys Movement in Enugu State, positioning it as a formidable grassroots political force in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
Ezediuto made the declaration in a statement posted on his social media account, where he addressed the growing online conversations surrounding the City Boys Movement.
“If I may speak frankly, the reason the City Boys Movement is generating so much online conversation is simple — it is strategic,” he wrote. “In politics and public life, nobody discusses irrelevance. When your name, your idea, or your movement becomes the subject of debate, it means one thing: you are either making meaningful impact or unsettling the opposition. That is the reality on ground.”
He maintained that political movements do not gain traction by chance. “Movements do not trend by accident. They trend because they carry weight, direction, and influence,” he added.
While noting that social figures such as Obi Cubana and Cubana Chief Priest have been linked with the City Boys Movement, Ezediuto said he is spearheading a parallel grassroots structure — the Village Boys Movement — across Enugu State.
“I proudly declare that I stand as the King and Coordinator of the Village Boys Movement in Enugu State,” he stated, emphasizing that the initiative is anchored on rural mobilization and community engagement.
According to him, political strength ultimately lies beyond urban trends. “Real strength does not only reside in the cities. The foundation of every political structure is rooted in the villages, the streets, and the grassroots,” Ezediuto wrote.
Describing the Village Boys as “the backbone, the mobilizers, the defenders, the voters — the pulse of the land,” he insisted that electoral outcomes are determined at the grassroots level.
“The street is not noise; the street is the structure. The village is not weakness; the village is the power,” he declared. “City Boys may set the trend, but Village Boys determine the outcome. And in Enugu State, that strength is solid, organic, and untouchable.”
