The Enugu State Government says its participation in Norrsken Africa Week 2025 marked a strategic step toward positioning the state as a leading innovation hub on the continent.
In a statement issued after the event, the Enugu MSME & Startup Agency (Enugu SME Center) said the global gathering of founders, investors and policymakers provided a platform to connect Enugu’s emerging ecosystem to international capital and venture networks.
“In November 2025, we participated in Norrsken Africa Week 2025 — where founders, investors, and policymakers converge to shape Africa’s innovation economy. For Enugu, this was strategic,” the statement read.
The agency noted that under the leadership of Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the state is building what it described as a “globally connected innovation ecosystem” aimed at attracting investment, nurturing scalable startups and creating high-value employment opportunities.
“Under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, we are building a globally connected innovation ecosystem designed to attract capital, support scalable startups, and create high-value jobs,” the agency stated.
It explained that the Enugu SME Center would serve as the coordinating engine of the initiative by aligning policy direction, infrastructure development, talent cultivation and investor engagement into a unified, results-driven framework.
“The Enugu MSME & Startup Agency (Enugu SME Center) will serve as the coordinating engine — aligning policy, infrastructure, talent development, and investor engagement into a results-driven framework,” the statement added.
$15m Capital Target, 5,000 Jobs
Central to the plan is the forthcoming Enugu Tech & Innovation Hub, which the agency said would focus on measurable outcomes rather than symbolic projects.
“Through the forthcoming Enugu Tech & Innovation Hub, we are targeting:
• 100+ scalable startups annually
• $10–15M in capital within 3–5 years
• 3,000–5,000 high-value jobs
• Structured accelerator and investor-readiness programmes
• Integration into global venture networks
“This is structural — not symbolic,” the statement emphasized.
The agency confirmed that the innovation hub would commence operations soon, describing it as a major milestone in the state’s digital transformation agenda.
“The Enugu Tech & Innovation Hub comes on stream soon.
“We are not just participating in Africa’s innovation conversation. We are positioning Enugu to lead it.
“The next chapter begins soon.”
