Mrs Chinyere Ofoke, Chief Executive Officer of Gold Peggy’s Travels and Tours, Ebonyi State, has been elected Treasurer of the Eastern Zone of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA), following a keenly contested poll that drew significant interest across the region’s travel community.

Her emergence is being celebrated by stakeholders as a proud milestone for Ebonyi State and a strategic gain for travel professionals within the Eastern corridor.

The NANTA Eastern Zone, one of the association’s most influential blocs, spans 11 states — Rivers, Enugu, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Delta, Edo, Imo and Abia — and plays a pivotal role in shaping travel and tourism business standards in the region.

Speaking shortly after taking the oath of office, Mrs Ofoke thanked members for entrusting her with the responsibility, pledging prudent and transparent financial stewardship.

“This is a responsibility I take seriously,” she said. “I am committed to ensuring financial integrity and working closely with the leadership team to strengthen the Eastern Zone for the benefit of all our members.”

Colleagues describe her as a disciplined and result-driven professional with strong business acumen. Under her leadership, Gold Peggy’s Travels and Tours has earned recognition for efficient management and reliability — qualities industry watchers believe will bolster confidence in the zone’s financial administration.

Her election comes at a critical period when members are advocating stronger accountability systems and deeper trust within professional associations. Observers say her tenure presents an opportunity to reinforce transparency, enhance coordination and promote institutional stability.

With her assumption of office, expectations are mounting that the Eastern Zone will witness improved financial management and steady organisational growth in the months ahead.
