The National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) Eastern Zone has elected a new set of executive officers in a closely watched leadership transition expected to shape the future of the travel and tourism industry across 11 states.
The Eastern Zone — regarded as one of NANTA’s most strategic and influential blocs — spans Rivers, Enugu, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Delta, Edo, Imo and Abia states, making the outcome of the election a significant development for travel trade stakeholders in the region.
New Executive Team
Following the electoral process, members elected the following officers to steer the affairs of the zone:
- Vice President: Mr. Ayoola Olatunji (Bereeth Travels and Tours, Port Harcourt)
- Secretary: Mrs. Chioma Obi (Jands Travel Network, Enugu)
- Treasurer: Mrs. Chinyere Ofoke (Gold Peggy’s Travels, Ebonyi)
- Financial Secretary: Mr. Emmanuel Okpako (Kikinuels Travels, Benin)
- Public Relations Officer: Mr. Ossai Emmanuel (Emios Holidays, Port Harcourt)
- Internal Auditor: Mr. Martins Adebayo (TOC Travels, Benin)
The emergence of the new executives has been welcomed with enthusiasm by members and industry stakeholders, who describe the team as a balanced mix of experience, credibility and fresh energy.
Observers note that the new leadership will be pivotal in strengthening collaboration among travel professionals, promoting ethical standards, expanding business opportunities and advancing the collective interests of NANTA members throughout the Eastern Zone.
As a major hub for travel trade activities in Nigeria, the zone plays a critical role in regional tourism development and international travel operations. Expectations are therefore high that the new executive will introduce innovation, inclusiveness and strategic direction to consolidate the zone’s influence within the national body.
Details of the inauguration ceremony and the rollout of the new leadership’s strategic agenda are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
