Delta State University Secondary School, Abraka, has reaffirmed its reputation for academic excellence by clinching Overall Second Position at the highly competitive 2025 Delta State Science Competition and Exhibition.
The prestigious annual contest, organised by the Delta State Government, featured three rigorous stages — Local Government, Senatorial, and State levels — and attracted some of the brightest young scientific talents from across the state.
Dominant Run from Start to Finish
Competing in the Senior Secondary category, the Abraka-based school delivered an impressive performance from the onset.
At the Local Government Level, the school secured both First and Second Positions, demonstrating exceptional academic strength and scientific creativity.
Building on that momentum, the school advanced to the Senatorial Level, where it claimed First Position, earning a place at the State Finals with what observers described as an outstanding display of innovation and subject mastery.
At the highly anticipated State Finals, Delta State University Secondary School ultimately emerged Overall Second — a result widely regarded as a testament to its sustained culture of excellence and commitment to scientific advancement.
Student Honoured with Award of Excellence
In recognition of the school’s strong showing, Master Enemuwe Norbert was presented with an Award of Excellence by the Delta State Government on February 24, 2026, for his outstanding performance in the competition.
The accolade highlights not only individual brilliance but also the institution’s broader commitment to nurturing innovation, discipline, and intellectual growth among its students.
The achievement marks another proud milestone for the school’s management, staff, students, and alumni community, reinforcing its standing as one of Delta State’s leading centres of academic distinction.
Stakeholders have hailed the feat as a continuation of the school’s enduring tradition of brilliance and excellence in competitive academic platforms.
