Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has paid glowing tribute to Mrs. Azuka Mbata, wife of its President-General, Senator Azuta Mbata, describing her as a pillar of strength and a steadfast supporter of the Igbo cause.
In a statement marking her birthday, the National Publicity Secretary of the organisation, Dr. Ezechi Chukwu, said Ndigbo across the globe were celebrating a woman whose loyalty, composure and sacrificial support have bolstered the leadership of the apex Igbo socio-cultural body.
According to the statement, Mrs. Mbata has shown “unquestionable commitment” not only by standing beside her husband but by embracing the responsibilities and sacrifices that come with the pursuit of unity, progress and dignity for the Igbo people.
Her “calm disposition, steady encouragement, strong character and dignified composure,” the statement noted, have significantly strengthened Ohanaeze’s leadership at what it described as a critical moment in Igbo history.
The Deputy President-General of Ohanaeze, Prince Okey Nwadinobi, was quoted in the statement as saying:
“Mrs. Azuka Mbata represents the unseen strength behind purposeful leadership. Her devotion to her husband’s mission and her sincere belief in the Igbo cause reflect rare courage and patriotism. Ndigbo are proud of her sacrifices and are inspired by her example.”
Dr. Chukwu described her as an “unsung heroine” whose life embodies “service without noise, sacrifice without complaint, and commitment without hesitation.”
He added that the Igbo nation deeply appreciates her steadfast support and prayed for her continued good health, divine wisdom and abundant blessings.
“Happy Birthday, Mrs. Azuka Mbata! Happy Birthday the First Lady of Igbo nation! Happy Birthday true daughter of Igbo land, role model to Igbo women and a beacon of strength to our people!” the statement concluded.
