The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Delta State Chapter, has congratulated Ngozi Olejeme on the prestigious “Ugo Nwanyi” title conferred on her as part of activities marking the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration.

In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday, the President of the Delta State chapter of Ohanaeze, Benjamin Chukwuyem Igumbor, described Olejeme as a symbol of visionary leadership and humanitarian service whose impact continues to inspire communities across the Niger Delta and beyond.

The honour was conferred on Olejeme by the Women Wing of the Asaba Development Union during a ceremony held at the Mariam Babangida International Centre.

He noted that Olejeme’s advocacy for justice, development and women’s rights has earned her widespread admiration and the title “Amazon of the Niger Delta.”

“Her tireless advocacy for social justice, development and the protection of the rights and dignity of women has earned her the widely celebrated appellation ‘The Amazon of Niger Delta,’ a befitting description of her courage, strength of character and fearless commitment to the upliftment of society,” Igumbor added.

He further commended Olejeme’s contributions to humanitarian service and community development, describing her as a role model for emerging leaders.
